#GivingTuesday – Making a Difference Fair
Do your bit on #GivingTuesday through our Making a Difference Fair, Swap Shop and HeartStart CPR Training on North Campus
On Tuesday 28 November, the world will celebrate #GivingTuesday, an international day to do ‘good stuff’, to recognise what is already being done and to encourage people to consider giving time, money or support to a worthwhile cause. On the University’s North Campus there will be plenty of opportunities to mark Giving Tuesday.
If you would like to see how you can do your bit, come along to the Making a Difference Fair, showcasing a variety of organisations you can support or volunteer with. Some of the organisations represented will include:
- Wood Street Mission
- Workplace Giving
- School Governors Initiative
- Green Impact
- Antibiotic Guardians
- Widening Participation
Giving Tuesday will also see the return of the Swap Shop following the success of our first event in the summer. Once again, we are looking for quality unwanted clothes, shoes, books, gifts, toys and homeware. Pop along to bag yourself a bargain and help us raise money for charity.
Both the Making a Difference Fair and the Swap Shop will be taking place in the Renold Building from 12.00-2.00pm. Why not use your lunch break to see how you can give on Giving Tuesday?
You can also learn some lifesaving skills in one of the HeartStart CPR training sessions, running at 12.15pm, 1.15pm and 2.15pm in the Barnes Wallis Building Hub. To register for one of these sessions, please visit the Volunteering stand at the Making a Difference Fair from 12.00pm.
All staff and students from across the University are welcome to attend.
Follow #UoMGivingTuesday to find out stories from staff and students about how they Make a Difference.
