#GivingTuesday programme
How will you give?
On Tuesday 28 November, the world will celebrate #GivingTuesday, an international day to do ‘good stuff’, to recognise what is already being done and to encourage people to consider giving time, money or supporting a worthwhile cause.
Across the campus there will be plenty of opportunities to mark Giving Tuesday and discover new ways of giving. Why not use your lunch break to pop along to one of our many events to see how you can do your bit?
Making a Difference Fair – Renold Building, 12.00-2.00pm
The Making a Difference Fair will be showcasing a variety of organisations you can support or volunteer with. You could also win a £50 high street voucher! Some of the initiatives represented that staff and students can get involved with are: Green Impact, Peer support, School Governors Initiative, Volunteering, Development and Fundraising, Access All Areas, Antibiotic Guardians, Robogals, blood and organ donation, Student Action, Veg Box People.
SwapShop – Renold Building, 12.00-2.00pm
Giving Tuesday will see the return of the Swap Shop! Once again, we are looking for quality unwanted clothes, shoes, books, gifts, toys and homeware. You can bring your items on the day or can drop them off in Renold B28 from Wednesday 22 November.
Entry for the Swap Shop is £3 or £1.50 if you have items to swap. Money raised will go to Lemn Sissay’s Care Leavers Christmas Dinner.
To raise even more money for this great cause, there will also be a cake sale in Renold Building. Donations of cakes (homemade or shop bought) are welcome!
HeartStart CPR training – Barnes Wallis Building, 12.15-3.00pm
Staff and students can also learn some emergency lifesaving skills in one of the HeartStart CPR training sessions, running at 12.15pm, 1.15pm and 2.15pm. To sign-up for one of these sessions, register via Eventbrite or visit the volunteering stand at the Making a Difference Fair from 12.00pm.
Health-related giving – Stopford Building, 12.00-2.00pm
Learn more about initiatives you can support which promote health by visiting an exciting selection of stands in the Stopford Building. Find out more about organ donation, the Antibiotic Guardian scheme and learn vital basic life support skills.
All staff and students from across the University are welcome to attend all of these events.
